Happy New Year!

Hi everyone! So it's New Years Eve (still) for me, so instead of finishing my paper, I've decided that it'd be great to write a blog post!

Well, I'll keep this short and sweet.

Happy new year everyone!
May all your wishes come true in 2010! :)

Priming Yo' Eyelids!

Hi guys!

So, I made a video about eye shadow primers and what they're all about.

Eye primers are very important when wearing eyeshadow. They prevent creasing, fading, smuding and flaking. They also help to intensify the colour of the shadows you're wearing.

There are three types of eye shadow primers:

Primers that help your eyeshadow wear longer
These primers prevent your shadow from creasing and fading throughout the day. They are usually colourless, and eye shadows are able to blend smoothly over them, and remain there for the entire day.
Examples include: Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Primers that help intensify the colour of your eyeshadow by covering up the darkness of your lids
Because eyelids are one of the thinnest skins on your body and they are close to blood vessels, eyelids can sometimes appear to be blue-purple and dark. These primers help to counteract the darkness of your lids to create and blank canvas, so that instead of trying to blend a shadow colour over blue or purple, the true colour of your shadow will show.
Examples include: Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer

Primers that help enhance the colour of the eye shadow you are wearing
These primers are coloured primers that are usually the colour of the eye shadow look you are wearing. They help to intensify and enhance the colour of the shadow you put over top of it. Almost anything can be used for this purpose. You can use a black eyeliner, and colour that all over your lid if you want a black base for a smokey eye.
Examples include: Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liners, MAC Paint Pots, eyeliners...anything, really!

I also use eye shadow primers when I use eyeliner and mascara too, because they prevent my lids from getting oily. If my lids get oily, eyeliner and mascara become easier to smudge and smear as well.

Here's my video talking about three different kinds of primers I use:

Project 10 Pan!

Hi there! So today, after being inspired by lollipop26 on youtube (http://youtube.com/lollipop26), I decided that I'm going to do Project 10 Pan. For those of you who don't know, Project 10 Pan is basically a ...movement (that's what I'm going to call it) that forces one to completely finish off 10 makeup/beauty/skincare products before buying any more.

There are a couple reasons that I want to do this.
1. I am trying to save money. University starts next year for me, and of course, post-secondary is NOT cheap.
2. I have way too much stuff already.
3. Perhaps I'll be able to rediscover something that I used to love.

So here are the 10 products I'm going to finish off for round 1:
1. MAC Lip Conditioner Stick
2. MAC Lip Conditioner Tube
3. MAC Blush in Mocha
4. MAC Eyeshadow in Brule
5. MAC Blot Powder
6. Cover FX Powder FX foundation
7. Givenchy Hot Couture perfume
8. Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
9. Shiseido Mascara Base
10. MAC Lusterglass in Venetian
